John McCrostie will announce candidacy for Idaho House Seat 16A on Tuesday, Dec. 17

WHAT: John McCrostie will formally announce his candidacy for House Seat 16A. The seat is being vacated by Grant Burgoyne, who is running for the Senate.

WHEN: The announcement will be made at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17.

WHERE: Riverglen Junior High, 6801 N. Gary Lane in Boise

WHO: McCrostie has been a resident of Garden City for 14 years and an Idaho public schoolteacher for 11 years, during which time he has taught band, choir and guitar to students in grades 5 – 12. In addition, he is currently attending Concordia University School of Law, and will earn his Juris Doctor in 2015. McCrostie received his Bachelor of Music Education from Oral Roberts University (Tulsa, OK), where he graduated Magna cum laude, and earned his Master’s Degree in Instructional and Performance Technology from Boise State University.

McCrostie has served as an executive board member of the Boise Education Association, a 3-year state delegate to the Idaho Education Association’s Delegate Assembly, and a 2-year national representative to the National Education Association’s Representative Assembly. The NEA recently honored McCrostie as a 2013 Top Political Activist.
